Of course it's fake. Tell me...did you apply for a position at this hospital...or are they just very interested in a random person.
2 :
Looks like a scam to me... Here's a question for you: did you even apply for a position as a nurse with that hospital? Also, it would be wonderful if nurses got paid OVER NINE THOUSAND dollars a MONTH in Spain, but that's just not true, in Spain or anywhere else in the world. That's more than well-paid lawyers make in New York.
3 :
SCAM! They have 2 fake websites set up to take your money. Don't give it to them!
4 :
To all of you who have received this offer(or a similar one). THIS IS A VVV BIG SCAM. No such hospital exists. The addresses including emails are fraudulent. The telephone numbers are probably mobile phones. It is obvious that the target areas are the sub-continent. Is that not a coincidence!! Finally, even the President of Spain probably does not earn as much as they are offering.

Your best bet would be to direct yourself straight to the spanish government national health service.... They should be able to inform you of requisites and possibilities... The services are managed by regions... Here is the webpage of the health service in southern Spain(Andalucia) http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/servicioandaluzdesalud/library/plantillas/externa.asp?pag=https://ws003.juntadeandalucia.es (On the right hand side of the page you will find a part that says EMPLEO PUBLICO & CONTRATACION PUBLICA) The next website pertains to Madrid: http://www.madrid.org/cs/Satellite? pagename=PortalSalud/Page/PTSA_home (Look where it says OFERTAS DE EMPLEO)
2 :
I just did a search for you and found the following website about "How to get a Nursing Job in Spain" which may give some insight: http://www.justlanded.com/english/Spain/Tools/Articles/Jobs/How-to-get-a-nursing-job-in-Spain
3 :
they are always looking for nurses more so in the Costa's ?Blanca, and Del Sol?all year round for all the Elderly go for there winter breaks and live in Spain for the duration in the winter time http://www.nhshistory.net/nursing.htm
4 :
It might also be worth checking the English newspapers on the Costas and on Mallorca. Most have websites so you can check which companies are offering services in your field and contact them directly. I would imagine that the private sector offers a little better salary structure than the Spanish National Health Service. Salaries in Spain aren't that great in most sectors. We wintered over once on Mallorca and my wife took a temporary carers position looking after elderly and convalescing people. She didn't need nurses qualifications because she was only a carer but they were always looking for qualified people. I know that the new NHS Hospital here in Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca has many foreign patients and employ many English speaking staff. That region is in Alicante, maybe this web site can help you www.san.gva.es Good luck.

Don't trust such things...They are all fake!
3 :
Did you apply for a job at this hospital? Did you submit your resumé to a recruitment agency who could have possibly forwarded it on? If the answer to those is no, then it is most likely fake. If it asks you to send money, it's a scam. If all else fails and you're still in doubt, Google it. I have on this one, and the results clearly indicate scam.
4 :
If you applied for this job & were interviewed then of course its genuine. If it just appeared out of blue without applying or without interview, then its fake & scam. Ignore it completely.

I want to work as a nurse in Italy or Spain

I want to work as a nurse in Italy or Spain?
I'm from the UK, I'm a qualified nurse with a degree and I'd like to work in Italy or Spain. Id like to know: 1) If I can work there with my current qualification (I can work in USA, Australia, etc, so I guess so) 2) What knowledge of the language I'd need to acquire first 3) If there is anything like a nursing home for expats where I could work in English, and learn in my spare time for a year or so.

Well I am sure the answer to #2 is their language unless your working at a hospital for english speaking expats and tourists I would imagine the EU has some form of coverage for you in transferring your credentials... I'd talk to the british agency relevant for that as for #3 no idea
2 :
Contact the places you'd like to work directly is the easiest. Or Bunnac or searching for work holiday visas.
3 :
For Italy 1) you may need no more than to get your degree recognized by Ministero della Sanità. That's what's required even for a doctor. 2) It would be appreciated if you know Italian, but here in Italy there's such a need of professional nurses (seems everybody want to be a Doctor... :) a hospital near my home hired (although fo a temporary job) 25 Romanian nurses that didn't even talk Italian.

First off- do these countries even have nurse anesthetists? Although CRNA's have been around for awhile, not all countries have them. Canada doesn't, and Australia & New Zealand has just recently introduced the position. Double check to make sure it exists first

I don't know. But I think that the salary thing shouldn't be that important. The most important thing should be that you were happy and that you were doing a great job to those who need your help. Hugs! ^^

What do people think of this name...a name to be teased?! i have an unusual first name and got teased at school (verity) so i want to avoid it but i work as a nursery nurse and see loads of way out there names!! so maybe in 10 years wont be as bad?? also does anyone know how popular the name is in spain?i know it is spanish for river. thanks!! does it make anyone think of footballer Rio Ferdinand? thats what someone has said to me

I like it. I dont see why he would be teased from that name.
2 :
It's a pretty cool name. I don't think he will be teased for that super cool name! You and your partner sure do have great taste!
3 :
since it means River in Spanish and Portuguese too, it would work really well if you associate with one of those cultures! Otherwise, I don't think it's that good
4 :
i like it....sounds strong
5 :
i think this name is cute I like the names that are not heard to often or if it a common name spell it different my daughters name is zoee Danyelle my sons is Landon James Dakota good luck to you
6 :
Rio does mean River in Portugese I also Like Tiago it means happy
7 :
I like rio...but if you dont, go with Rico or something like that. Jamario is close, it still has the "rio" in it, or even mario
8 :
I don't care for it, but that's just me...
9 :
that is a way cute name. i am a school gurl and i wouldn't tease someone with that name so there ya go! Perfect NAME
10 :
If I went to school with someone named rio, i'd tease him.
11 :
I think the name Rio is lovely, My friend named her son Rio and since the day he was born people have commented about what a lovely name it is. So i think you should go for it
12 :
personally i dont like it but its your choice. Leo would be a cool name tho
13 :
I love that name. Theres no reason why he should be teased
14 :
It does make me think of Rio Ferdinand, but other than that, its a cute name. Go for it. Ferdinand's only a footballer, he'll disappear off the charts in a few years. Your baby will be around for a lot longer.
15 :
I hope Mummy changes her mind. Rio is awful, sorry
16 :
Mummy wants to call you that because she wants you to be teased like she was (even though she had a pretty name).
17 :
I really like it but I think there was a Rio i knew way back when who got teased (but thats mostly because he was a bit bigger than most and they called him Rio Grande...it was just elementary school) I don't think he would be teased though and i really like the name

Do you think that the U.S. government would send usd

Do you think that the U.S. government would send us...?
Do you think that the U.S. government would send us into war under false pretenses? Consider the following... Spanish-American war, 1898: The surprise explosion of the battleship Maine at Havana, Cuba. 255 of the crew died. The Hearst press accused the Spanish, claiming that the explosion was caused by a remote-controlled mine. The USA declared war on Spain, and conquered Philippines, Guam and Cuba. Subsequent investigations revealed that the explosion originated inside the Maine and that it was either an accident, such as a coal explosion, or some type of time bomb inside the battleship. Divers investigating the shipwreck found that the armour plates of the ship were blown bending outwards, not inwards. It wasn't until 1980 that the U.S. admitted that the Spanish had nothing to do with the sinking of the battleship Maine. Operation Northwoods, or Northwoods, was a false-flag operation plan that originated within the United States government in 1962. The plan called for Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) or other operatives to commit genuine acts of terrorism in U.S. cities and elsewhere. These acts of terrorism were to be blamed on Cuba in order to create public support for a war against that nation, which had recently become communist under Fidel Castro. One part of the Operation Northwoods plan was to "develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington." Operation Northwoods included proposals for hijackings and bombings followed by the introduction of phony evidence that would implicate the Cuban government. This operation was never carried out. The previously secret document was originally made public on November 18, 1997, by the John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Review Board. Vietnam War 1964: The second Tonkin Gulf incident was originally claimed by the U.S. National Security Agency to have occurred on August 4, 1964, as a naval battle, but instead may have involved the "Tonkin Ghosts", and no actual NVN Torpedo Boat attacks. The outcome of this second incident was the passage by Congress of the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which granted President Lyndon B. Johnson the authority to assist any Southeast Asian country whose government was considered to be jeopardized by "communist aggression". The resolution served as Johnson's legal justification for deploying U.S. conventional forces and the commencement of open warfare against North Vietnam. It wasn't until 2005 that it was discovered that the second "Gulf of Tonkin" incident never happened. The 1st Gulf War: Some of you might remember the testimony of "Nurse Nayirah" in the media. She was a fifteen-year-old Kuwaiti girl, who alleged that she had witnessed the murder of infant children by Iraqi soldiers in Kuwait, in verbal testimony to the U.S. Congress. Nayirah was later disclosed to be Nayirah al-Sabah, daughter of Saud bin Nasir Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti ambassador to the USA. She was demonstrated to have connections to the public relations firm Hill & Knowlton, which was at that time working for Citizens for a Free Kuwait. The latter activist group was organized by the exiled Kuwaiti government, to gain support for the Kuwaiti cause. All of this info has been declassified and is completely verifiable. Also consider this... The Bush family, the Saudi Royal Family and the Bin Laden family have been business partners since the 1980's. Bush 43's first oil business, Arbusto Energy, was primarily financed by the Bin Laden family. Was 9/11 allowed to happen as a pretext for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq???

i did not even read all that jibberish. according to my magic eight ball , the answer is "without a doubt." 8 ball or not, the answer is yes.
2 :
I dont think president Bush knew about 9-11. Not only because i don't think he knows too much, but I also believe when you get to the mantle of the president of the United States you're put in a place where you can't have bad intentions. There's too much responsibility and having the world looking at you, your intentions can never be more purer. His decisions are absolutely wrong, but in my experience , I stop questioning a president's intention. You can disagree, and boy do I disagree, with his action, but don't question his patriotism.... Cheney on the other hand...
3 :
I think yes, but I also am a conspiracy theorist so idk if what I think matters, but here we go. I think we were bombed and we didn't know, but we knew this was going to happen eventually hence the towers were attacked once before in 91' i believe so whatever anyway. You know I think we were waiting for an excuse to seize oil over there, I believe we have many excuses why we are still at war over there. I think we really need to focus on the true intentions of the war. but we are a selfish country!
4 :
Great historical precedents there. Yeah I absolutely believe 9/11 was an inside job & (on a side note) I find it VERY interesting how quick liberal scion Noam Chomsky was to dismiss the debate as ludicrous when the story our govt has been pedaling as truth is ludicrous. I think the video Small Change does a very good job of debunking "the story." I too believe in some conspiracy theories because the "truth" given out to us is bull like you know the "lone gunman theory" for instance & because war is the most lucrative business. Btw, if you haven't seen the Aaron Russo interview where his friend at the time Nick Rockerfeller told him 9/11 was an inside job and a whole lot of other interesting stuff, do check it out.

can someone help me:)

can someone help me:)?
I'm in year ten and had to write an essay on where I would most like to live in the world for homework, can you please tell me what you think? Constructive criticism only please, thanks! If I had the choice to live anywhere across the globe, I would always choose the one place I know best... England! A boring, unimaginative, typical answer? Nah, just the one place I feel safest, and the place I think of, as home! One of the reasons I feel so safe here in England is because it very seldom has freak weather, so there is much less risk of natural disasters, such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornadoes unlike China, Asia and America. Here, we have the rights of free speech, to say what we think and we are able to voice our opinions; this allows us to be the people we want to be. Journalists have the right of free press, they are able to write what they like, unlike so many other countries, this enables us to report, to update and keep everyone informed with everything that’s going on. We all have human rights that keep us safe and protect us. We have a democracy, where everyone can vote for what who they want to be in power; which means nothing disastrous can occur. Many places in the USA and Spain have curfews, which means the police refrain you from being outside of your property after a certain time, the curfews depends on your age, your gender, or if there is a particularly high crime rate in that area. The UK does not have a curfew, but we do have ASBO’s, this can help innocent people get along with what they need to do, but keep offenders from re-offending. In England, it is against the law to discriminate someone because of their sex, for example, you are forbidden not give a person a job because of their gender, because we understand that no sex is superior to the other, both are equals and should be given an equal chance. Any person who is earning more than five thousand pounds a year has to pay tax. One of the services paid for by tax is the NHS, the NHS give us the financial support, and the access to doctors, nurses and the correct equipment, to receive the medical attention we require. From complicated medical procedures, to simply removing a tooth. Emergency services are also there on demand whenever you are in danger; these are here to help keep you safe. Technology, machinery and equipment are all constantly being updated and improved here in England, for instance; computers, to laptops, iPods, to smart phones, but also with equipment that can save our lives, like health screening, MRI scans, and even x-rays. These help find diseases or illnesses so we can treat them before they get too advanced to get rid of. This is another reason that makes me thankful to live in England, because I know if I have a problem I can be helped, and that we have the technology and also the funding (from the NHS) to save our lives. We are also more advanced than some other countries in the fact that we have quick and easy access to clean water, and everyone, from any background, is being given the chance to go to school, and no matter how much we all complain about it, we all know we want and need an education! As children and adults living in the UK, we are able to grow up with everything we need, a good education, councillors, benefits, the NHS, emergency services, social services, charities – such as ChildLine, or Barnardos, we also have the chance to claim benefits if needed, which helps free us from poverty. All these things can help us to grow up to be whoever we want to be, and to be given the chance and opportunity to do what we want to do.

edit/proofread my paper

edit/proofread my paper?
My paper on bergen belsen for eighth grade honors english find any errors, constructive criticism, it'd be greatly appreciated Infamous for claiming the death of Anne Frank, along with 50,000 others, Bergen-Belsen has become a notorious symbol of the horrors that occurred during World War II in concentration camps across Europe. Known for the unbelievably filthy and overcrowded living spaces, along with the mass graves, an immense typhus epidemic and the monumental liberation, Bergen-Belsen represents a portion of the unfathomable crimes committed during World War II. Located south of the small towns of Bergen and Belsen, and 11 miles north of Celle, Germany, Bergen-Belsen was originally set up as a POW camp in 1940. It was used to hold prisoners that were eligible to be traded for German citizens in allied internment camps. In April, 1943 the SS Economic-Administration Office, which controlled the concentration camp system, overtook part of Bergen-Belsen and converted it to a civilian residence camp, and later into the infamous concentration camp that is known today for the horrors that took place within the barbed wire fences. The camp was divided into various sections. The three main sections were the Prisoner of War camp, the residence camp and the prisoner’s camp. The residence camp consisted of four smaller camps, the neutral camp, the special camp, the star camp, and the Hungarian camp. The prisoner’s camp consisted of the recuperation camp, the tent camp, the small women’s camp, the large women’s camp and the original prisoner’s camp. Inmates from each division of Bergen-Belsen were separated from each other by barbed wire fences that isolated each part of the camp. The “neutral camp” housed several hundred Jews from neutral countries such as Spain, Argentina, Portugal and Turkey. Conditions were decent up until March of 1945, and prisoners were not forced to work. Until the liberation of Bergen-Belsen, many other Jews from neutral countries were placed in this unit of Bergen-Belsen. The “special camp” of the Residence unit of Bergen-Belsen consisted of thousands of Polish Jews that possessed temporary passports from South America, that were therefore deported to Bergen-Belsen. Though they were strictly isolated because of their knowledge of the cruelties that took place in Poland, the residents did not have to work. The Bergen-Belsen Memorial Site booklet states that “By mid 1944, most of this group had been transported to Auschwitz and murdered. Only about 350 of them remained.” The “Star Camp” held around four thousand Jewish prisoners, the majority from the Netherlands. Conditions were better than most of the camp and instead of the striped prison uniform, prisoners wore a Star of David on their own clothes. Prisoners of the Star Camp were forced to work, even the elderly. The Hungarian Camp was built in July, 1944 for the almost 2,000 Jews from Hungary. Inmates were treated even better than those in the “star camp” and were permitted to wear regular clothes, with a Star of David sewn on. They were not forced to work, or attend the continuous roll calls. Inmates were well fed, and properly cared for when sick. Sick prisoners that were unable to work were brought to the recuperation camp from concentration camps throughout Germany. Because of the insufficient medical care, the mortality rate in the “recuperation camp” was alarmingly high. The first transport was made up of 1,000 inmates from the Dora-Mittelbau camp, most suffering from tuberculosis. When Bergen-Belsen was liberated, just over a year later, only fifty-seven had survived. 200 prisoners were of the recuperation camp were murdered by an injection of Phenol, as ordered by “Head Nurse” Karl Rothe, who classified these murders as “mercy killings.” The “tent camp” was initially used as a transit camp for women arriving from Poland. 3,000 women who were evacuated from Auschwitz-Birkenau, and transported to Bergen-Belsen in late October and early November of 1944, and were housed in tents because barracks were not yet ready for them. The Dutch Red Cross was informed that the women were sick, but possibly curable. Because of their condition, prisoners were not forced to work. The tents were not heated, had no toilet or lights, and instead of a bed, they had a thin layer of straw on the ground. Anne and Margot Frank were probably kept in the tent camp for a short period of time after their transfer from Auschwitz in October 1944. In early November of 1944, several tents were blown over by the wind of a storm, and prisoners were moved into the barracks of the small women’s camp which had opened that August for women being evacuated from Auschwitz. By December 2, 1944 a total of 15,257 prisoners were in Bergen-Belsen and over half of them were housed in the Women’s Camp. In January 1945, the Women’s camp became a second Prisoner’s camp, for male prisoners. Around that time, Bergen-Belsen expanded and a new division of the camp

My fiance seems to suddenly hate my mother

My fiance seems to suddenly hate my mother?
Ok there's quite a bit of back story to this but I have a habit of letting these things run for too long so I'll keep it as short as I can! I'm 18, have been with my fiance (also 18, I'll call him "Sam" to simplify things) for almost 2 years now, and for the most part things are going really well. My mum has always supported our relationship and she loves "Sam" to bits (she is however the type of -slightly embarrassing- mother who constantly mentions how much she would love to have grandchildren, etc), and he's always been very fond of her. However, something has changed over the past couple months and he has been openly criticizing her to me. In the past he's always laughed it off whenever she mentioned marriage or children but lately, even though we talk about those things a lot to each other, he's been saying how inappropriate he thinks she's being. I suppose that could be a fair comment but it's never been an issue before, plus he speaks about her in very harsh terms that make me feel uncomfortable. A few days ago he asked me to go to Spain with him and his family (I went to Tenerife with them for a week in December also), and my mum said she would rather I stay here because she missed me so much the last time (which I thought was actually rather sweet). I told him this and he exploded, and started ranting about how selfish and immature she was. All I could think was how his mum had refused to let him come away with us before -to somewhere within the country- and how I had politely held my tongue. Today, "Sam"'s mum said something mean about either my mum's car or her driving (he says she was insulting her car, I'm sure I heard differently), which I was offended by. I spoke to him privately later on and explained that I thought his mum was out of line, but he said I was being over-sensitive and he couldn't see the problem. This quickly developed into a full-blown argument as he started hurling insults my way about how my mum was "lazy" because she gave up her job as a nurse to stay at home and look after me when I was born. He said his mum worked the whole time he and his brother were growing up, but that was only because his mum was a single parent and couldn't afford to stay at home, not because she was any better than my mother! He went on to say that his mum was "worth 20 of my mum" because she's been through so much that apparently my mum wouldn't even be able to comprehend (he knows nothing about my mother or her past by the way). Another thing I should mention is that he is OBSESSED with the idea that there is some kind of class war between him and I. He sees himself as working class, and myself as middle class. He's constantly bringing up the subject of money, and he's suggested a few times that because we have more money than his family we don't all love each other, only our possessions. He says his family are closer than mine (not true) because they only have each other. He also ignorantly said that my parents bought a shop "in the middle of a recession" because they wanted to look "flash", when it has absolutely nothing to do with that. And to be honest, I don't even think he is as typically "working class" as he seems to think. At least if he is, I don't think he's very different from me at all. Wow this really has run on for too longl I'm sorry... Anyway the point is, I'm really confused as to why he's suddenly calling her a "bitch" all the time when just a couple months ago he was singing her praises. Is there something I'm missing here? And is this class war thing ever going to end or is it just something I'll have to put up with if I want to spend the rest of my life with him? I hate to think he's jealous of me, but the way it seems like he's always TRYING to make me jealous of him is very strange... Any advice you could give to help me keep my cool would be great! And thanks for listening. He thinks I'm too defensive when it comes to my mum... Sometimes I worry that this is true. I can't stand to hear anybody insult her, it just makes me see red! But, obviously I know he likes his mum more than my mum, but why say it? What a weird thing to say to someone... and that she's worth 20 of her... I don't understand why he wants to hurt me

He is a stuck up fucking ***hole. What a prick. How can you stand being with him? I would have dumped him a long time ago. You deserve so much better than him.
2 :
His true colors are coming out, dump him. You deserve much better.

I completly agree. He is being very disrespectful towards your mother. If I were you, I'd tell him to work things out or stop because it's making you upset. She's your mother for pete's sake! She loves you very much and shouldn't be treated this way, seeing that she is to, older. Good luck! God bless!
4 :
Something in life I have found to be true. A man treats his Mother and your Mother like he will treat you eventually. Without fail, it always happens.
5 :
i'm sorry to have to tell you this, but he is turning into a control freak. after that comes all kinds of rules, don't see your mom, don't see your friends, don't do this can't do that. then the hitting starts!!! it's time you and old sam parted ways. as he says, find someone in your own class, like someone that isn't an assho!e. because, trust me, the bad that you are going through now, is just THE BEGINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE AND WORSE!!! if you stay with him, remember what i told you today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6 :
Okay. Wow. Your fiance is behaving like a child. 18 is fairly young (you're only a year older than me), and at this age there can sometimes be a maturity gap between males and females. It's obvious to me that you are more emotionally developed than he is. That's not a good sign for the two of you as a couple. Also, this crap he's pulling about your mother is complete nonsense. Even if your mother was a terrible person (which she is not), he would not have a right to call her offensive terms. If, for some inexplicable reason, he has something against her, he still needs to respect that she is your MOTHER and that you love her. And also, if he is jealous of you now, I can assure you that he will only get more jealous as time goes on. Even though I think his jealousy is ridiculous, I can tell you from experience that it will only get worse after your marriage. You need to tell him firmly that he MUST stop insulting your mother, that he must start showing some more respect for the woman that gave birth to you. You also need to address the jealousy issue. Bring it up calmly, and ask him about it gently since it may be a very sore topic. If he can't discuss this with you rationally then that should tell you something too. It may be that he is just not ready for such a serious committment as marriage right now. If that's the case, step back and give him space. You'll be better off.

Tell him that you can't stand him if he's like that to your mom. Show him how much your mom means to you and how much you love your mom. Tell him what's in this polaroid picture all the time: http://www.pixisnap.com/main/view/0000007161

what are some examples of irony in " a modest proposal" by jonathan swift

what are some examples of irony in " a modest proposal" by jonathan swift?
here is the essay if you don't know it but it is pretty lengthy if you are not familar with it It is a melancholy object to those who walk through this great town or travel in the country, when they see the streets, the roads, and cabin doors, crowded with beggars of the female sex, followed by three, four, or six children, all in rags and importuning every passenger for an alms. These mothers, instead of being able to work for their honest livelihood, are forced to employ all their time in strolling to beg sustenance for their helpless infants: who as they grow up either turn thieves for want of work, or leave their dear native country to fight for the Pretender in Spain, or sell themselves to the Barbadoes. I think it is agreed by all parties that this prodigious number of children in the arms, or on the backs, or at the heels of their mothers, and frequently of their fathers, is in the present deplorable state of the kingdom a very great additional grievance; and, therefore, whoever could find out a fair, cheap, and easy method of making these children sound, useful members of the commonwealth, would deserve so well of the public as to have his statue set up for a preserver of the nation. But my intention is very far from being confined to provide only for the children of professed beggars; it is of a much greater extent, and shall take in the whole number of infants at a certain age who are born of parents in effect as little able to support them as those who demand our charity in the streets. ”I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in London, that a young healthy child well nursed is at a year old a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled ...” As to my own part, having turned my thoughts for many years upon this important subject, and maturely weighed the several schemes of other projectors, I have always found them grossly mistaken in the computation. It is true, a child just dropped from its dam may be supported by her milk for a solar year, with little other nourishment; at most not above the value of 2s., which the mother may certainly get, or the value in scraps, by her lawful occupation of begging; and it is exactly at one year old that I propose to provide for them in such a manner as instead of being a charge upon their parents or the parish, or wanting food and raiment for the rest of their lives, they shall on the contrary contribute to the feeding, and partly to the clothing, of many thousands. There is likewise another great advantage in my scheme, that it will prevent those voluntary abortions, and that horrid practice of women murdering their bastard children, alas! too frequent among us! sacrificing the poor innocent babes I doubt more to avoid the expense than the shame, which would move tears and pity in the most savage and inhuman breast. The number of souls in this kingdom being usually reckoned one million and a half, of these I calculate there may be about two hundred thousand couple whose wives are breeders; from which number I subtract thirty thousand couples who are able to maintain their own children, although I apprehend there cannot be so many, under the present distresses of the kingdom; but this being granted, there will remain an hundred and seventy thousand breeders. I again subtract fifty thousand for those women who miscarry, or whose children die by accident or disease within the year. There only remains one hundred and twenty thousand children of poor parents annually born. The question therefore is, how this number shall be reared and provided for, which, as I have already said, under the present situation of affairs, is utterly impossible by all the methods hitherto proposed. For we can neither employ them in handicraft or agriculture; we neither build houses (I mean in the country) nor cultivate land: they can very seldom pick up a livelihood by stealing, till they arrive at six years old, except where they are of towardly parts, although I confess they learn the rudiments much earlier, during which time, they can however be properly looked upon only as probationers, as I have been informed by a principal gentleman in the county of Cavan, who protested to me that he never knew above one or two instances under the age of six, even in a part of the kingdom so renowned for the quickest proficiency in that art. I am assured by our merchants, that a boy or a girl before twelve years old is no salable commodity; and even when they come to this age they will not yield above three pounds, or three pounds and half-a-crown at most on the exchange; which cannot turn to account either to the parents or kingdom, the charge of nutriment and rags having been at least four times that value. I shall now therefore humbly propose my own thoughts, which I hope will not be liable to the least objection. I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in

"It is a melancholy object . . . ." Ironic understatement--the scene he proceeds to describe is more tragic than merely "melancholy." " . . . leave their dear native country . . . ." How "dear" can it be to them? "There is likewise another great advantage in my scheme, that it will prevent those voluntary abortions, and that horrid practice of women murdering their bastard children, alas! too frequent among us! sacrificing the poor innocent babes . . . ." But killing them to eat at the age of one isn't "sacrificing the poor innocent babes"? These are a few examples. There are more in the parts you left out. Then there's the overall irony of the whole piece: Swift actually says what he means, but says it as if he's matter-of-factly defending an unthinkable idea. He points out that the country has no agriculture or industry, that children as young as six are taught to steal, that a member of the ruling class spends more on one meal than it costs to feed and clothe an Irish child for a year or even years, that Irish women are driven to abortion or infanticide because they cannot afford to support their children. The reader needs to look beyond the "proposal" Swift appears to be making to the hard facts he presents.

Translation 4 Our neighbours have changed their minds and are going to Spain instead of going to Italy on their holiday. We should hope that they don't go forever. Don't sign the contract without looking at it. This morning I missed the bus and had to wait for the next one, which didn't come on time. The building cought fire but the firemen managed to put out the fire. I advice you to learn the poem by heart. Suddently the lights turned off, but the spokesman kept on speaking everyone there to much surprise. One of the students passed out when he saw the nurse. Atleast a half an hour past before he gained consciense again. Never suspend anything to morning if you can do it today. It would have been best for you to tell the truth right away. I have said it to him again and again, but he never seems to remember anything. His aunt inherited him with alot of money. Did you lend the woman in the next house your sewing machinge? All resolution must be returned in the end of the test. The acident is on some level his fault. I don't recall having heard this before.

Revolutionary War Report/diary

Revolutionary War Report/diary?
I have been assigned a report for history & it is about 1775, [Rev.War] and I have to pretend to be a nurse in the Continental Army living through these events and have to make a diary describing all these events: 1. The Battles of Lexington & Concord 2. The Battle Of Bunker Hill 3. News of the Olive Branch Petition 4. News of The Declaration of Independence 5. Washington's crushing defeat in New York 6. Retreat across New Jersey 7. Victory at Trenton and Princeton 8. British capture Philadelphia 9. The Battle of Saratoga 10. France and Spain send help 11. Winter at Valley Forge 12. The Battle of Cowpens 13. The Battle of Yorktown 14. News of The Treaty of Paris Now, I'm begging [not asking for you to do my report!] that someone will help me by putting brief details describing EACH event so i know what i'm writing about in this diary. Thank you sooooooooooo much!!!! No links please- I just want someone to briefly sum up each event please i really don't understand!!! Thanks =D!

You are asking for quite a lot of information and I don't think any one will spend the amount of time needed to answer you. Here's the best I can do for you, if you don't like the answer I've given then ignore it. What would you name them

What would you name them?
NO MEAN ANSWERS!! Pictures are provided and don't be all like, oh they are all white, because they won't be. Promise. The reason the pictures ar eof them as teens, is because well that's when you can kinda tell what their names would be from pictures. 1. Your name is Caitlynn Elizabeth Smith and you have been married to you husband, Jacob for about 3 years. You two are 21 and really want kids. So you try and in three months discover you are having a baby. Nine months later, about two weeks after your 22nd birthday, your little girl is born. Brownish blonde hair and brown eyes. You want her name to begin with J. What's her name? When she's a teenager: http://media.photobucket.com/image/sarah/emmazbestfriend/Sarah.jpg?o=1 2. You are 25 with a 3-year-old girl. You two decide you want more kids, but can't get pregnant for some reason. you decide to adopt. You go on a vacation to India, to pick up the girl that you are adopting. You want her middle name to represent her culture, and the first name to begin with a M. What's her name? When she's a teenager: http://media.photobucket.com/image/indian%20girl/maraal01/Kruti002.jpg?o=15 3. You are 27 with kids ages 5 and 2. You and Jacob really want a son, but still can't conceive. Your sister, Helen lives in South Africa, because she's a navy nurse. You visit her and decide to adopt a boy from there. You want his name to mean love or strength, either one. So what's his name? When he's a teenager: http://media.photobucket.com/image/african%20boy/joncappy/Image87.jpg?o=17 4. But big surprise! When you return home with you adopted son, you find out you're pregnant! You couldn't be more excited, and neither could the girls. Nine months later your little boy is born. Brown hair and brown eyes, just like his blood sister. You want his name to begin with a T. What's his name? When he's a teenager: http://media.photobucket.com/image/jake/clintieschick_2008/jake.jpg?o=28 5. You are now 32. The kids: 10,7,5 and 5. Your kids want a younger brother or sister. But you and your husband have had enough...you thought. But you unexpectedly get pregnant. Nine months later, you have a little girl with red hair and blue-ish gray eyes. You decide to give her a N name. What is it? When she's a teenager: http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/38370000/jpg/_38370827_nicola150.jpg 6. You are 35. The kids: 13,10,8,8 and 3. You and Jacob decide to adopt a child. The agency calls a year after you apply. The found not one, but two little children for you. One was a little girl from China. The other a boy from spain. It ws impossible for you two to choose and decide to take them both. You want the girl's middle name to be Chinese but her first name to mean God's gift, or like God. When she's a teenager- http://farm1.static.flickr.com/115/296364540_a68fff0994.jpg As for the boy either both of his names can be spanish, or one of them can his other name mean warrior, but not a Spanish one meaning so. When he's a teenager( he's of course, the guy in the photo)- http://media.photobucket.com/image/spanish%20boy/bfras/image0525.jpg?o=48 7. You are 40 and think your family is complete. The kids are: 18,15,13,13,8,5,and 5. But then, you sister Penelope dies in car accident, along with her husband. Meaning you inherit her son and daughter. The boy is 3 and the girl is 13. The 13-year-old girl's name begins with an O. When he's a teenager- http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumb_180/11887543786W4Hwz.jpg The girl- http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumb_186/11901077863xVaIR.jpg THE END!! =P I'd name them: 1. Jordan Elizabeth 2. Melanie Aikya 3. Phillip Abdi 4. Theo David 5. Natalia Jayne 6. Haleigh McKala and Clemente Esteban ( McKala means gift form God) 7. Olivia Grayson and Elijah Noah

2 life changing options. What would you choose

2 life changing options. What would you choose?
Lets say you moved to Italy(you're a 18 year old girl), but things are unsure there, your visa is taking forever and you might not be accepted, you live in a house with your aunt, mom, his husband and his brother (both have schizophrenia but the brother is on medication, the husband is perv), there's no heater and it's cool, you have no money (not even for the bus) and you don't eat well(sometimes just one meal a day) and your highschool diploma might not be valid either and have to study a couple of more years... you're given 2 ways: 1. Stay and see if they accept the visa, even thought living in the conditions described above, things might get better after 2 years if your mother gets a job and helps you with getting highschool diploma validated, so you can study in college or... 2. Go to Venezuela(where you were born, even thought the situation is not good there, to make it short my father has bussiness there.) where you have a home(my dad bought at our names), your sister and you will have food and all facilities, study a year course in nurse school, and then move to (probably) Florida with your aunt, my dad can pay college and give me some start money while I get a job and be more independent, Spain is other option aswell. Wich one would you choose and why? Thanks a lot xx

Could you check my paper for spelling or grammar mistakes

Could you check my paper for spelling or grammar mistakes?

5) The building caught fire, but the firemen managed to put out the fire 6) I advise you to learn the poem by heart 7) switch the wording around on this one.. try: Suddenly the lights turned off, but surprisingly, the spokesman continued to speak to everyone there 9) At least a half an hour passed before he gained consciousness again 13) He inherited a lot of money from his aunt 14) Did you lend the woman in the next house your sewing machine? 15 seems to be worded very wrong.. im not sure what you're trying to say 17) The accident is, on some level, his fault OR The accident is on some level, his fault
2 :
Well, you don't have any quotation marks around what people are actually saying. Also "his aunt inherited him with a lot of money" sounds weird. (ps, a lot is 2 words, not 1)

why is health care so bad in britain

why is health care so bad in britain?
i got very sick 2 years ago when all this swine flu paranoia, i sudenly got very ill, 41 temperature, my friend took me to emergencies and they refuse to see me(not even looking at me) and they send me home saying i had swine flu,i never understood how they can diagnose someone with something when they didnt check on you, next day my friend went to collect the tamiflu for me,2 days later i got even worse, ambulance refuse to come for me when i called then, 2 days later i went back to hospital and they refuse to see me again, i felt so fustrated that i booked a flight back home in spain, when i arrived in madrid hospital they check for everything, that same day they told me i had a really bad pneumonia, no trace of swine flu at all! and they couldn't belive that doctors refuse to see me in london. nurses speak no english, hospitals are FILTHY, i have never seen a hospital with carpet, just in london for the first time, scary isn't it? very high rate of infections due to lack of hygiene. what is wrong with this country?

Yes, Health Care in the UK is abyssmal, it really stinks there. It's because they fell for the Liberals who thought a country could provide Health Care to all. It doesn't work does it?
2 :
You complain about hygiene - yet you went into a hospital with a potentially contaigious disease, and you want them to put carpets down (which would allow bacteria to thrive and prevent proper cleaning of the floor) Also, you went to London. If you want to visit Britain then you need to go to a part of the country which isn't too 'busy' to talk to each other. Nothing is more depressing than watching a train full of businessmen so interested in their own business than the other human beings around them doing the same.

IT IS GOVERNMENT RAN
4 :
The Labour government of the time......... constantly fiddling, only to make things worse. Employing too many managers on crazy pay (Some even get paid more than the Prime Minister does), at the expense of clinical & cleaning staff............ and running all kinds of little scams to make it look like their health authority was meeting "targets" set by the then government. Got a few classic articles that should show you the kind of thing that went on: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1280504/I-wouldnt-trust-hamster-Whistle-blower-lifts-lid-wildly-successful-NHS-trust.html http://conservativehome.blogs.com/platform/2009/09/dr-michelle-tempest-conservatives-are-the-only-remedy-for-the-nhs.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-188877/NHS-targets-cost-lives-patients.html http://conservativehome.blogs.com/leftwatch/2010/02/labours-nhs-targets-needlessly-cost-1200-lives-in-staffordshire.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1237888/NHS-target-time-exposed-sham.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1196997/Hospital-patient-shocked-dirty-ward-climbed-bed-clean-herself.html
