well hi sorry to hear about your infection my mother has an ear infection and she takes tablets to help with the pain if you have drops put them in before you go to sleep and put a cotton bud in your ear then take it out in the morning and wrap it in something and take it to the doctors and ask them to see if your ear is leaking from the inside hope that works
2 :
Ask Mum to make an appointment with the DOCTOR, it sounds like an infection and you could need antibiotics. If its affecting your jaw now its getting worse not better.Have you tried resting your head on a hot water bottle, protected, or a wheat bag. They may ease the pain. Paracetamol or aspirin would be better than ibuprofen.
3 :
Are you running a fever? If so ear drops aren't working you need antibotics .Keep you hear warm like sleeping on a heating pad. If you have pains in your jaw Call the Dr. office tell them what is going on(i meanget your momto call ) they should have you pick up some drugs at a pharmacy> Don't keep on letting it go onyou'll lose your hearing!
4 :
I think I would get a second opinion, its not normal for the pain to get worse. Swimmers ear is another name for what you have. The drops really should have cleared it up.

Where's the best place to study abroad for spanish?
I really am having a hard time deciding where I'd like to spend a some time studying spanish and studying nursing, I prefer not to have spain since there are different tenses you don't normally learn in school. I've been to Antigua, Guatemala and loved it and also Puerto Rico and spent some time in Miami. any people who've had first hand experiences would be much appreciated! thanks

Ummmmmmmmmmm. Spain. Where the language originated. I lived in Sevilla. Best program available to me at the time...Program was right in the University, with Spanish students...I took several classes with them, NOT the ones that were set up for us foreigners. Did pretty well, too! Madrid has some good Universities, as does Barcelona, and Salamanca, being the oldest University in the country, has that historic feature.... Good programs abound. Granada, Oviedo and Alicante have some really great schools, too. And I know people who studied in Santander. I would avoid the Basque country, as the people there are fiercely independent, and may not be as friendly about speaking Spanish. (DO NOT take that as a recommendation against visiting, though...pretty country! Great people! Incredible food (so I hear...I didn't eat a lot there...mostly bread and butter! Seriously budgeted trip).) But I wouldn't recommend studying there unless you want to learn Euskadi (or is it Euskara?) I wouldn't say the same of Galicia and Barcelona...everyone uses Castellano there, as well as knowing their own language.

Of course it's fake. Tell me...did you apply for a position at this hospital...or are they just very interested in a random person.
      2 :
Looks like a scam to me... Here's a question for you: did you even apply for a position as a nurse with that hospital? Also, it would be wonderful if nurses got paid OVER NINE THOUSAND dollars a MONTH in Spain, but that's just not true, in Spain or anywhere else in the world. That's more than well-paid lawyers make in New York.
      3 :
SCAM! They have 2 fake websites set up to take your money. Don't give it to them!
      4 :
To all of you who have received this offer(or a similar one). THIS IS A VVV BIG SCAM. No such hospital exists. The addresses including emails are fraudulent. The telephone numbers are probably mobile phones. It is obvious that the target areas are the sub-continent. Is that not a coincidence!! Finally, even the President of Spain probably does not earn as much as they are offering.

      What makes humans moral

      What makes humans moral?
I've read in the December 2007 issue of TIME magazine the following: "Morality and empathy are writ deep in our genes. Alas, so are savagery and bloodlust... ... We're a species that is capable of almost dumbfounding kindness. We nurse one another, romance one another, weep for one another... And at the same time, we slaughter one another... we've visited untold horrors on ourselves --- in Mogadishu, Rwanda, Chechnya, Darfur, Beslan, Baghdad, Pakistan, London, Madrid, Lebanon, Israel, New York City, Abu Ghraib, Oklahoma City, an Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania --- all of the crimes committed by the highest, wisest, most principled species this planet has produced. That we're also the lowest, cruelest, most blood-drenched species is our shame --- and paradox." What do you think? Why are there people like Mohandas Gandhi and, at the same time, like Osama Bin Laden? What shapes our moral judgment? Erudite thoughts are very much appreciated. FOLLOW-UP QUESTION: This is a classic moral dilemma: A runaway trolley is heading down the tracks toward five workmen who can't be warned in time (you're just too far away). You are standing near a switch that would divert the trolley onto a siding, but there is a single unsuspecting workman there. Would you throw the switch, killing one to save five? FOLLOW-UP QUESTION: This is a classic moral dilemma: You are adrift in a life raft after your cruise ship has sunk. There are too many survivors for the life rafts, and yours is dangerously overloaded. The raft is certain to sink, and even with life vests on, all the passengers are sure to die because of the frigid temperature of the water. One person on the boat is awake and alert but gravely ill and will not survive the journey no matter what. Throwing that person overboard would prevent the raft from sinking. Time is running out. Could you be the one who tosses the person out?

Hmmm... good question. I will keep an eye on this question.
      4 :
i think it is the culture our beliefs and prejudice that shapes who we are as a person. it is also the environment that we live in and our experiences (past and present) that makes us behave in a certain way.
      5 :
My morals came from my parents and church. lol

I WANTED to answer this question, but I'm afraid I'm not erudite enough. Sigh...
      7 :
I think it might be genetic. I've seen whole families that have a quiet disposition and kind hearts. Then again, I've seen families...All they do is fight with each other and also with others. It might be a learned behavior though. If there's no love in your house, how would you learn how to love? Sort of like Monkey see, Monkey do!
      8 :
Morals are individual. We have a brain and when it is in good working order and we are raised in a good enviornment then we develop empathy, sympathy, the ability to love, trust and care for others. If the brain is damaged in some way then even the best parents can not make us develop these characteristics. If our brains are healthy but the enviornment is not then we don't develop these characteristics..... I'm sure you have heard that poem about " A child who is loved learns to love. A child who is shown hate learns to hate ....." A stray cat will defend her young at all costs yet there are human mothers who beat or kill their own children. We are more evolved than the rest of the animal kingdom because of our brains and for that reason we are also more complex and confusing.
      9 :
Wow, this is more of philosophical question. When we studied it, humans weren't considered innately good...and morals are difficult to define. What may be considered moral in one place, might not be in another. So, perhaps Osama feels he's moral when he does what he does. Just keep in mind that there is a general rule behind almost every moral. A moral, in its most basic form, is what keeps a society together...instead of in a natural state. A natural state is considered to be barbaric...where people don't have groups that they work with, but work only for themselves. They don't have communication or cooperation. It would be terrible, in other words. Morals prevent this and insure our survival. For example, murdering is innately bad. Why? Because if everyone went around killing people, eventually there would be no trust and without trust there would be no communication. This is because we must trust what someone is saying in order to say something back. Say I asked you what time it is and you respond by saying "3:30 pm". If I didn't trust you, then I wouldn't believe that it's actually 3:30 pm. Eventually, communication becomes pointless. And, without communication, there is no society. That's why murder is wrong. The same goes for stealing and raping. It leads to mistrust. But, say that Osama believes that killing people is wrong, but that in order to prevent murder, he must kill certain people. A good example of this type of logic is the death penalty for murderers. Murder is wrong in our eyes, but to prevent more death, we kill that murderer. This is a very simple form of Utilitarianism. Utilitarianism is a belief that is widely followed by westerners (whether they know it or not). It's much like hedonism in the way that it wants everyone to be as happy as possible and that in order to achieve this we can do basically anything as long as our happiness does not cause harm to others. It also uses quantity to balance the scales. Say for example, that one person is very happy when they kill a bunch of people. Unfortunately, it causes MUCH more harm to a lot more people than it does joy to that single person. And, again, lets go back to the example of the death penalty. While one person may suffer, a lot more people are going to stay alive because of it. Of course, all of our logic can be a little skewed and sometimes blatantly wrong, but this is mostly how utilitarianism works. What I'm saying, simply, is that people have universal morals, but that our cultures/religion/philosophical views/upbringing can change how we judge what is moral and what is not. That's where we get such extreme cases such as the two examples you used above. And, honestly, there are just weird human beings that don't follow the code...because they don't really care about the consequences, or don't think that the rules apply to them. Or, they can be psychologically damaged as well. It's a case by case thing.
      10 :
I think that our moral judgments are shaped by many a factors. There is the "genetic" disposition of a person, tempered by the society in which they grow up and live in. Immoral acts are usually "morally justified" depending what culture you come from. Osama Bin Laden would feel morally justified about killing American civilians in retaliation for what he sees as American immoral behavior. George Bush feels morally justified for going to war for what he See's as Arab immoral behavior. When somebody commits an immoral act they rarely believe that they are committing an immoral act. Who is Moral and who is immoral is defined by what side of the fence you are sitting on.
      11 :
There are always nut cases out there but just as an example, a general collapse of morality can be seen in most every high school in the US. For most of us, our morality is founded on feelings. Call it conscience or common sense, it is a set of unfocused feelings. All of us need acceptance and society has used that need from our infancy to get us to behave. We do something in accordance with society standards and we get praise and acceptance and if not, they with hold praise and acceptance. It is quite similar to training an animal except an animal responds better to food than to praise. When we're adults, we don't need real praise, imagined praise is usually sufficient. You mentioned empathy but what is empathy or sympathy other than a feeling? But a set of feelings is a poor foundation for morality for what obligation do we really have to obey a feeling? None that I know of. So when it's easy and convenient and to our own best interest to behave in some way, we will. If we consider that there is a higher moral authority behind our feelings, then we have an obligation. That higher moral authority has to be God. If I think God has put our capacity for empathy and sympathy into our human nature, then I immediately also have to think that I have an obligation to respect what my Creator has done. The feelings suddenly gain an importance because they point to an authority.

The first one is wrong. There's no need for the "a" before manzana. What's wrong with this sentence? "Juan no está aquí. Puedes llamarlo luego." And this one? "Me gusta lavarme las manos." This one has an error (you said it did not): "Voy a pie cuidadosomente." Adverbs use the feminine form + -mente. So, it'd be cuidadosamente. In number nine, you've conjugated incorrectly. "I go to bed" is reflexive. You've said "I he puts me to bed late." Me acuesto. Nosotros traemos la comida a nuestros abuelos. You can replace "nuestros abuelos" with les, but you can also replace "la comida" with la. That, however, changes the "les" to "se." For 24, see above about adverbs. Bondadosamente. Is "Preguntan" an option for 25? That would work better. 29: "Tomo mi cafecito en el sistema." I take my coffee in the system? I'm pretty sure that's not the right answer. "Ella no ________ aquí. (She is not here.)" For how you feel and where you are, always use the verb estar. Ella no está aquí. "¿_____ (Do they try on) mucha ropa?" You said: "Te pruebas" Are you "they"? Nope. So, they are third person, plural. Se prueban.

      Deep Vein Thrombosis risk

      Deep Vein Thrombosis risk?
I am in Urubumba in Peru and 1 hour away from a hospital. I flew from Madrid last Friday and it was a 14 hour flight I think, I was very very ill on the plane (chest infection kicked in) so could not move and could not get myself water and the staff did not help me at all on the plane. I have a dull pain in my right calf that is a sharp pain if I squeeze it. I´ve had a nurse who I´m staying with check the pulse and it is fine, it is slightly warm but not obioucly hot and the colour is healthy. Could this be deep vein thrombosis and how long should I wait until I get it checked out? I am nearly 20 years old on the marvelon contraceptive pill and a light smoker (However I have not smoked since last Thursday and using this opportunity to quit) I am a healthy weight and height for my age as well.

There is no way to telling whether this is a DVT or just calf pain. Taking some motrin regularly may make this go away. If it is a DVT, the symptoms will continue to get worse, despite the use of motrin. And, by taking a birth control pill and smoking, you have dramatically increased your risk of a stroke at a young age. These two things together are deadly. You can also go to WebMd.com and type in "deep vein thrombosis" and read up on this condition for additional warning signs.

why is health care so bad in britain?
i got very sick 2 years ago when all this swine flu paranoia, i sudenly got very ill, 41 temperature, my friend took me to emergencies and they refuse to see me(not even looking at me) and they send me home saying i had swine flu,i never understood how they can diagnose someone with something when they didnt check on you, next day my friend went to collect the tamiflu for me,2 days later i got even worse, ambulance refuse to come for me when i called then, 2 days later i went back to hospital and they refuse to see me again, i felt so fustrated that i booked a flight back home in spain, when i arrived in madrid hospital they check for everything, that same day they told me i had a really bad pneumonia, no trace of swine flu at all! and they couldn't belive that doctors refuse to see me in london. nurses speak no english, hospitals are FILTHY, i have never seen a hospital with carpet, just in london for the first time, scary isn't it? very high rate of infections due to lack of hygiene. what is wrong with this country?

You complain about hygiene - yet you went into a hospital with a potentially contaigious disease, and you want them to put carpets down (which would allow bacteria to thrive and prevent proper cleaning of the floor) Also, you went to London. If you want to visit Britain then you need to go to a part of the country which isn't too 'busy' to talk to each other. Nothing is more depressing than watching a train full of businessmen so interested in their own business than the other human beings around them doing the same.

Living in US. Wanting to Move to Spain

Living in US. Wanting to Move to Spain.?
Hola todos! I think I might want to move to Spain after college which is in 2017. Thats after I get my masters. I want to become a nurse-midwife and I was wondering how hard would it be to make a living there and how I will have to start off there. I looked on this website and it said that midwifes are in demand over there. I am a high school senior right now and I'm trying really hard to attend college in Madrid, Spain for two years. Help me please. And also I know that I will have to learn spanish, which i am practicing with hispanics every day. I am a US citizen

First, you live in the US, but where is your passport from? Are you a US citizen? Because it's very difficult to get a work/long-term visa for Spain if you're not from the EU. Start researching things in depth, and you might be able to do this. START by thinking about doing a year abroad in Spain (so you will know the language, and the culture, and maybe set up some sort of connections, and maybe have that visa paperwork done). BTW, it's really important to check into whether your chosen career is even a viable choice. My impression of medicine in Spain is that they are pretty conservative. ¡Buena suerte!
      2 :
It really depends on what standard of living you want. The wages will be much lower here than in the States. We can't foresee 2017 and the job market, or the problems you may have getting a work visa here, so best to plan to get your degree, then find work in the US and ask this question then!
      3 :
I'm not disputing that Midwives may be in demand in Spain at the moment, but that may not be the case in 7 years time. - If this is something that you have your heart set on then you should be aware that just because you have a medical qualification in the US it does mean that your qualification will be valid or recognized here in Spain. In order for it to be recognized you need to go through a validation process which can tale a number of months, and almost always requires that you have been in practice in the country where you studied and qualified for a certain length of time. - Have a look at this link which tells you how to get your professional qualification recognized in Spain - http://www.tumbit.com/how-to-guides/articles/121-how-to-get-your-professional-qualification-recognised-in-spain.html

Having lived in Madrid for 2 years, I can say that you need to consider several things. St. Louis university has a program in Madrid and they even have nursing classes at the one of the major private hospitals there. As for nurse midwives being in demand, well, the average Spanish woman does not have a child until after she is 30 and it is rare to see a family with more than 1 child. As you finish your 4 year program and move on to your masters work, you will want to consider the risk of delivering older mothers. While malpractice is rare, it is present there. A person with an advanced degree in a area of need, should not have too much trouble getting into Spain to work. The thing that was catching fever pitch when I left was anti-immigrant feelings that were increasing as the economy started to fall several years ago. Shake downs of immigrants was a daily thing regardless of race and nationality. As to learning Spanish with Mexicans. In Spain the Spanish is different. Most of my friends learned Latin American Spanish and when we got to Spain we all had a laugh about how people would not like to speak to us until we learned European Castilian. Even our Mexican friend was made fun of because of his accent. They are very protective of the original language, but you will find many Latin Americans there anyway. The one thing that I would say, and I hope changes by the time that you are there, Contrary to popular belief, there is a lot of crime in Madrid. Mainly in the form of pickpockets and purse snatching but armed robbery is now a fact of life there. Before you commit to your university money there, I would recommend a program like a gap semester/year program or a great one that is 20 km from Madrid, called pueblo Ingles. The main purpose of the program is to teach Spanish people English, but the room and board is free and you will get a feel for the country. I have included a link so that you can have a look at the program. Be sure to ask them lots of questions if you are interested.

Players That run out their Contracts For a Huge pay Day

Players That run out their Contracts For a Huge pay Day?
We have Seen lots of Players manipulate there clubs by playing out their contracts and cashing in huge pay days by getting a kick back from the club they sign for because that club didnt have to pay a huge transfer fee. The Biggest one that comes to mind was Sol Campbell to Arsenal. Im a Newcastle Fan and i Think micheal owen is a Snake, We paid 17 million pounds to Nurse a player back to fitness and just as he is getting back into his Stride hes now Waiting the days out for his big Pay Day Move. To Be Fair Noone can blame him, Hes obviously has No Heart for The newcastle Team but why should it be Newcastles Problem if he ditched Liverpool and went tits up At Madrid . There was a Obvious Overload of Strikers at real madrid so its not like he didnt know it was going to happen. My Question is should there be some rule brought in that stops players For Frauding clubs in this way?

No because that's part of Football in a way what would football be with out controversy? things like this make the Transfer windows exciteing and unpredictable , gives us fans to something to talk about for a while " was it for the right reasons" "how will he do" etc etc if this didn't happen , a huge part of football wouldn't exist.

Can somebody give an HONEST assessment of this!?
It is for a story, tell me what you think of it- Of Alexandra VII's three children, the youngest, Roger Ramius Sergei Alexander Chiang MacClintok- known variously to political writers of his own time as "Roger the Terrible," "Roger the Mad," "the Tyrant," The Restorer," and even "The Kin-Slayer"- did not begin his career as the most promising material the famed MacClintock Dynasty had ever produced. Bad grammar, and the thing about the son makes no sense. Otherwise, it could be good for people who like these types of stories.

You should join www.gather.com and post your work if you're looking for readers and comments. They pay you for posting working, getting friends to join, commenting on other people's work. It's like a mini-myspace for "writers".

Not good. It sounds like you aren't comfortable with that particular style of writing. If you're determined to use that style you'd do yourself a favor by reading a couple of good books written in the same style. It will familiarize you with what you're attempting and save you time and frustration in the long run.
      7 :
very interesting introduction- maybe go a little slower with it?? I had to read it twice to make sense of it. Maybe introduce Roger Ramius Sergei Alexander Chiang MacClintok a little differently, then go into the family history later. Is it supposed to be "MacClintock" or "MacClintok"? Also, "the sixth Ear"? Don't you mean "Earl"? I do like your description of this Roger, though: "overly handsome, self-centered, clothes-consious fop." Maybe find a different phrase for "clothes-conscious" though. It doesn't quite sound correct. Hope this helps, and good luck with the story.
      8 :
Too many convoluted names at the beginning of the story. It's a turn off. When you start a story--ANY STORY--make sure something is happening. It doesn't matter what: just make sure it's SOMETHING. And cut the pretentious sounding names out. All you're doing is confusing the reader.
      9 :
Writing tip: Don't use phrase "his mother nursed" unless you are talking about nursing. Maybe "his mother harbored".
      10 :
Plagiarism is a bad thing. John Ringo and David Weber may have something to say about this if they are ever notified. Although if you frequent Baen's Books on the web you will find that the authors themselves frequent this site to get input on their novels, series' and just plain talking about their works. The only other thing I have to say is that if you ask John Ringo and David Weber if they are ever going to have a fifth book that gives everything closure?

As such, it was perhaps not unreasonable, when the "Playboy Prince" and his bodyguard (Bravo Company, Bronze Battalion, of the Empress' Own Regiment) disappearned enroute to a routine flag-showing ceremony only motnhs before an attack upon the Imperial Palace, that suspicion should turn to him.

      i'm confused.
      2 :
Interesting - you've got great details in here describing Prince Roger. The one thing I, as a reader, would appreciate is less wordiness--slow it down. You are cramming a lot of important details into one paragraph. As I read through it, this sounds like you are trying to say as much about this world as you can in one breath. Long sentences are not bad, but it is nice to space them out with short ones for emphasis. I like to think of it in comparison to a roller-coaster. You go up and down. If the rails were all at the same height, the coaster would be boring. Similarly--long information-packed sentences followed by long information-packed sentences can bore or overload the reader. Keep the detail, but read it out loud to yourself and don't be afraid to slow it down.
      3 :
You'll choke your readers to distraction if you write 'so much' back off a tad, and give little portions instead. Readers aren't fools they will follow where you lead them, if they like your style, just let them use their imagination. You do write well, just a tad over-the-top. Good writing.
      4 :
You obviously Love Words and are quite capable of firing off a string of flavorful adjectives, but what you might have missed is the effect your words are having on your reader. If you really want to capture the reader's interest, EDIT and READ over and over and over until you've accomplished the practice of re-writing. In re-writing, remember to consider your READER instead of your love affair with all of these words. From another Word Lover, I understand your plight in omitting those wondrous adjectives, but I've come to understand that even though I'm writing for myself - if I expect anyone else to read my writing with appreciation for what I'm saying, then I must fine tune the words and phrases in a way that will give the reader comprehension of what I'm attempting to portray. If a reader can't understand or empathize with the writer's portrait, then they will walk away unmoved and unable to pick up the piece again with that feeling of zest that should be felt when taking time to read.
      5 :
Forget it. It's verbose self-regarding piffle.

      Athletic Trainer vs. Physical Therapist

      Athletic Trainer vs. Physical Therapist?
I'm just wondering, what EXACTLY is the difference between the two? How are both jobs performed? What degrees would I need for either job? How long would I need to attend college? Is it just the standard four years? What are some colleges that offer the two as a major? The only decent college I could find so far was Boston University. (Do any UC schools offer these as majors?) Also, what are the chances of getting on a pro team (ie: Barca, Real Madrid, Milan, etc)? And how do I apply / get an internship in those teams? I'm thinking about double majoring in one of those two and in nursing, then getting a degree in acupuncture. Does this seem like a good idea? Sorry for a bombardment of questions. It's time to apply for colleges, you see. x]

ATC treat athletic injuries and work on the field. PT treat everything from pediatrics to geriatrics. They treat disease states. PT treat disease in musculoskeletal, neurological, integument, and cardiopulmonary. PT make more money, go to school longer, and work in a variety of settings--hospitals, nursing homes, rehab facilities, schools, homes, outpatient clinics. PT work more regular hours. ATC treat during games--nights and weekends. You can do both. PT is a graduate degree. ATC can be a BS degree www.apta.org www.nata.org

Why are my parents so strict

Why are my parents so strict?
At school I met this nice guy from Madrid and he suggested that we hooked up, but when he came over to my house my parents saw him and immediately rushed him out the door. They keep telling me that I can only date white guys but I'm not that narrow minded. How old do parents have to be until you can send them to a nursing home or something, this is totally lame. They don't consider spanish people as white. They only accept northern europeans and if your skin is olive or darker they don't consider that white either. Gus wrong! I don't care if they disown me or anything, as long as I'm happy I don't give two shyts.

madrid? these people are considered white by my family white people discriminate spain people? i didnt know that EDIT tell them you think you like black men now and they will reconsider
      2 :
Your parents are pretty racist!! But dnt worry they're gonna back off once have grown a little!
      3 :
Your parents are enforcing their values on you. They feel you will get hurt. Like many people, they are uncomfortable with different cultures. My parents told me not to marry someone from a different culture, but I did anyway. It's been tough at times, but overall I am glad I did. But until you are financially on your own and out of the house, they get to call the shots for you. You don't have to wait until they are in the nursing home. So it's 18, or 21 if they pay for your college, or even longer if you are a mooch or deadbeat. Your choice. (I was 25 when I got married. Parents could disapprove, but were wise enough to keep it to themselves.)
      4 :
Ah the parental skills of white folks. Run an individual away from your daughter CERTAINLY NOT BECAUSE HE'S ABOUT TO HOOK-UP WITH HER AND POSSIBLY TURN HER INTO AN EARLY PREGNANT TEEN but because of his racial/ethnic backgrounds. This is the white community for you.
      5 :
They only want what is best for you.. Listen to them, you'll be glad that you did...
      6 :
Wow. Your parents are lame. Sorry, but it's true.
      7 :
Its your life, and your choice how to live it. You can be a racist tyrant, come off ignorant and annoying. You can also live your life quietly making fun of people and being obsessed with others because of their race, while they don't even know who you are (let alone care). -OR- You can live your life free of those things. And meet alot of people that you've never realized how great they were, because you were focused on their race instead of what truly matters. Choice is yours.

How much does a Registered Nurse make in Spain

How much does a Registered Nurse make in Spain?
I'm just curious if anyone knows what the average salary is for a registered nurse in a city like Madrid or Barcelona? And how it might vary from big cities to smaller cities like Toledo in Spain?

I don't know. But I think that the salary thing shouldn't be that important. The most important thing should be that you were happy and that you were doing a great job to those who need your help. Hugs! ^^
